Car accident compensation claims

If you are unfortunate enough to be involved in a car accident, whether you are the driver or a passenger then you may find yourself in the position of claiming compensation as a result of the accident. If the accident wasn't your fault, and you have sustained injuries, then the other party involved in the accident will be liable for any resulting car accident compensation claim you may make.

Making a compensation claim following an accident can be a lengthy and time-consuming process, fortunately there are a number of firms that will act on your behalf to progress your claim, with minimum involvement on your part once you have given them all the details of the accident, and had any medical examinations to verify your injuries.  You may find your car insurance will cover the cost of legal representation in the event of an accident that leads to a compensation claim, in which case you would just need to contact them to establish the process of choosing a solicitor as they may well have preferred firms that they have an agreement with when it comes to payment of fees. If this isn't the case then you will need to find a good legal representative to help you through the process.

Unfortunately legal representation can be costly, especially when it comes to car accident compensation claims as there will no doubt be a lot wrangling with the other party involved as they try and dispute your claim. This could be compounded if the other party is in fact uninsured, therefore liable for any payments themselves.  It is at times like this that No Win No Fee solicitors can come into their own. While there is a fair amount of bad press around them, No Win No Fee firms do offer valuable services when dealing with such claims. They will represent you and make your claim on your behalf, and only when you win your case will they take their fee. Their fees will be paid by the other party, along with any court costs and other expenses that may have been incurred along the way, then they will have a success fee that they charge on top of their standard fees. This cannot be more than their actual fees, and again may well be covered by the other party.

Be sure to shop around before choosing a firm to represent you, if possible ask around for recommendations or be sure to research any firm before you proceed with your car accident compensation claim.
